What Scientologists Actually Believe

I don't consider Scientology a religion. It's more like a mind control cult.

I read this article on the net by L.Ron Hubbard's son. It's a real eye opener because his son has distanced himself from the Scientology camp. He explains how Hubbard started the whole thing as a mail order money making enterprise. The transformation to a religion was to avoid paying taxes. I'll dig it up and post it. Meanwhile, Australia's richest man, Jamie Packer has been converted to Scientology by Tom Cruise and is planning a Scientology wedding.

The guy you're referring to is Ron DeWolfe, Hubbard's son from his first marriage. The man was raised by Hubbard's estranged wife, and is not, was not part of the Scientolgoy movement. And of course he'd pooh-pooh Scientology, since Hubbard left his estate to the Church and not to him. This guy is like the male version of Anna Nicole Smith.

In terms of Scientology, I'm hoping one of you will have enough wits to realize that South Park, the cartoon that portrayed Christianity by having Jesus and Santa wrestle, is NOT the definitive authority on what we Scientologists "actually believe."

For the record, NO, that's NOT what Scientology is all about. (duh.)

Ron DeWolfe has long had issues with his father. I'm not sure how reliable his views are because a lot of his attitude seems to derive from family resentments of one sort or another.

Hubbard was an interesting character, but I think Scientology overdoes the hype in an effort to boost his stature.

It's interesting to see that the spokesman for Scientology doesn't dispute or refute the two observations I refer to made by Ron DeWolfe. There is an interview of DeWolfe by Playboy, available online that discusses these issues.

Lexcen,
You're wrong about oh so many things.

a) I'm not a spokesperson for Scientology. I'm just a dude.

b) I did dispute and refute. Did you not read my posts?
