Another Pastor busted in Texas

Oops, another Texas pastor busted - this time for solicitation of a 15-year-old girl over the Internet.

An Arlington pastor was in the Denton Jail on Friday on facing charges that he solicited an undercover police officer he thought was a 15-year-old girl, police said.

Grace Fellowship Church Pastor Leroy Ruedas Cruz, 50, is accused of trying to meet the girl at a Denton park after spending less than an hour in a chat room with the girl, said Detective Sgt. Scott Jenkins, a police spokesman.

He remains in the Denton City Jail on a $20,000 bond.

A story like this makes me wonder if Cruz has more experience meeting young girls in chat rooms. I am sure the local police are looking into it.

I tried to find a web page for Grace Fellowship Church - No luck. There are sure a bunch of Churches in Arlington.

Need I say "Only in Texas?".

FYI: This fellow opened a small nondenominational storefront church in Arlington strip mall years ago. Since then he's been divorced and remarried; the church has closed and been replaced by a pool hall; and his most recent occupation is that of a bus driver.

FYI: Mr. Cruz was sentenced by a jury to 10 years in prison (the maximum) on 09/11/08.
